What did you say? Underage?!

NOT EASY TO BE UNDERAGE!!!

Whether you’re an au pair, traveler, or an expat, you have to grow accustom to your host country’s laws. For example, in the States, you have to be over the age of 21 to drink, go clubbing, and sometimes, even bowling…

But don’t panic, here are some other things you can do and still have fun!

  • Practice an activity

In most cities and countries, there are evening swimming or yoga classes and, usually, the gym is open 24 hours. You can either attend classes with your friends or alone. It’s a good time to relax, clear your mind by listening to music or just hanging out with your friends.

  • Watch a movie

If your host family has been driving you nuts for a while and you need to get away from the madhouse, escape to the movie theatre and enjoy a film.

Or, if you’re still waiting for that paycheck from your host parents, why not invite your friends over for dinner and catch up on the latest shows on Netflix.

  • Organize a picnic or a BBQ

If you’re within walking or drive-able distance to a park, why not have a picnic date with your friends? With some music, dancing, chatting, and a breath of fresh air, you’re guaranteed to have a good time!

  • Rent a bike and discover a city by night

Are you living in a city where you can rent a bike? Or are you lucky enough to have your own bike? Perfect! Ride your bike and discover some places in your city. Great for the legs and great for the mind!

  • Host a pajama party

You need:

  • Girlfriends
  • Nail polish, make-up, beauty masks, etc.
  • Music
  • Netflix
  • Junk food
  • Pajamas

Invite some friends to your exclusive pajama party and have some fun all night long!

  • Go for a stroll in your neighborhood

If you have friends or other nannies in your neighborhood, go for a stroll with them. Or arrange a play date if they have kids too.

  • Shop ’till you drop!

Clothes, shoes, bags, make-up! Whatever it is you’re looking for, treat yourself to some retail therapy.

  • Enjoy listening to music whilst taking a relaxing bubble bath

  • Call your family and your friends

  • Start watching a new TV show
